Child and Family Health


Free Water Safety Awareness Program NT Northern Territory children under five can take advantage of this free Northern Territory     Government initiative, which aims to reduce the high rate of drowning in the NT.  The program consists of five sessions aimed at developing a child’s confidence and ability in water and teaching general water safety awareness and rescue techniques.


Sids and Kids -  Sids and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and has a wide range of invaluable information for families. 

Get Up & Grow - Provides families with practical information and advice to support healthy eating and encourage physical activity in young children.


Grow & Thrive - Provides information on children's learning, health and development for early childhood educators, primary teachers and parents.


Cancer Council NT -   Provides information on how to keep your family sunsafe.

Staying Healthy – The National Health and Medical Research publication which provides people working with children with simple and effective methods for minimising the spread of disease. It contains more ‘how to’ advice on procedures and                                       discussing exclusion periods with parents.

ASCIA - has been developing information for patients, consumers and carers since the year 2000.  ASCIA and Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia developed the first National Allergy Strategy for Australia, in conjunction with other key stakeholders.  Implementation of the National Allergy Strategy commenced in 2016-2017

ACECQA – The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is a national body who’s role is to provide national leadership in promoting quality and continuous improvement in early childhood education and care and school age care in Australia.  They ensure the National Quality Standards are implemented successfully and consistently across    Australia.


Quality Education & Care NT – Is the regulatory authority responsible for administering the National Quality Framework across the       Northern Territory.
